Polychaeta Pesisir Kalimantan Barat

Polychaeta perairan pesisir Kalimantan Barat umumnya tergolong polychaeta pemakan deposit (deposit feeder). By: JUNARDI. Seminar Jurusan Biologi FMIPA Untan

Marine Worm (Polychaeta:Annelida) From West Kalimantan

A total of sixty species of polychaete were found from West Kalimantan waters. Types of habitat including mainly estuaries, sandy beaches, and rocky shores environments. By: JUNARDI. MTFI Seminar, Nopember 2009

Habitat Characteristics of Namalycastis rhodochorde

Namalycastis rhodochorde is a new species polychaete of infaunal Sei Kakap estuarine habitats. The studied were done by hand collecting methods from May-October 2007 in Sei Kakap mangrove forest. The result has collected 45 individual (43 female and 2 male) which consist of 31 (68.89%) immature and 14 (31.11%) mature individual. The body length and weight of each individual was between 22.2-149.3 cm and 1.45-63.74 g respectively. The habitat was characterized by muddy-clay, low salinity and high organiccarbon content. A new species of Namalycastis (Polychaeta: Nereididae: Namanereidinae) from the shores of South-east Asia

A new species of Namalycastis, N. rhodochorde sp. nov. (Polychaeta: Nereididae: Namanereidinae), is described from the shores of South-east Asia. At over one metre in length and bright pink in life, it is one of the largest and most spectacular species of Nereididae discovered. Apart from its extremely large size and unusual colour, the new species may be distinguished from other Namalycastis by having very short tentacular cirri, lacking spinigerous chaetae in both the reduced notopodia and the neuropodia (subacicular position) of the parapodia, and in having many falcigerous chaetae in anterior parapodia that are either completely smooth or basally serrated (i.e. lacking teeth). The new species is currently wild harvested in its native range and exported alive to various countries for the bait trade, and therefore may become invasive. By : CHRISTOPHER J. Community Structure of Marine Worm (Polychaete)

The research was conducted in the mangrove coastal water in Peniti, West Kalimantan. Peniti mangrove coastal water has high species richness and diversity of polychaetes. We have collected 43 species of polychaetes. Most of them are deposit feeders with Dodecaceria sp. and Sternaspis scutata showed highest abundance among all species. The substrate characteristic was muddy-clay and the high carbon organic content. By: JUNARDI, ELVI RUSMIYANTO PANCANING WARDOYO. Biodiversitas 9 (3):213-216. 2008

Gametogenesis of Nypa Palm Worm (Polychaeta:Nereididae)

The Nypha Palm Worm Namalycastis rhodochorde has been used as bait for fishing in Pontianak. Culturing the worm is one potential effort for its commercialization as well as to overcome the overexploitation of the worm which also brings about the degradation of its natural habitat. Samples of the worm were collected from mangrove forest area in Sungai Kakap, West Kalimantan. Fresh sample of gametes from coelomic fluid were observed carefully under compound microscope to determine phase of gamete development. Oogenesis consisted of three consecutive stages namely immature, submature, and mature with <40 mm, 40<120>mm, and >120 mm in diameter, respectively. The spermatogenesis phases consisted of, spermatogonia, spermatid tetrad, and spermatozoa.By Junardi,Tri Rima Setyawati, Edy Yuwono. Jurnal Ilmu Dasar 11 (1):39-44.2010.
